P. Flanigan and Sons has been an area leader in heavy civil construction projects in Maryland for over 140 years. We service a wide range of transportation modalities from city streets to state highways, and from seaports to airports.
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager. This role functions as a training opportunity for the Project Manager role and supports the Project Manager in driving projects through all aspects, from pre-construction through closeout, including deliverables, administration, coordination, scheduling and financial performance. The Assistant Project Manager works closely with project leadership to drive successful project outcomes and ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Salary Range: $85,000 – $100,000, based on experience

Responsibilities
- Assist with planning, coordination, and management of assigned projects
- Support project startup activities, including but not limited to, scheduling, permitting, and subcontractor/vendor onboarding and management
- Track project costs, quantities, and productivity measures
- Coordinate with project teams including superintendents, field crews, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Support the preparation of RFIs, submittals, change orders, billings, and other project documentation
- Monitor and modify project schedules in coordination with Project Manager
- Identify risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies
- Attend and actively contribute to job progress and project performance meetings
- Handle special assignments and other duties as required
- Ensure work meets contract documents, plans, specifications, and quality standards
- Champion jobsite safety and ensure compliance with company, owner, GC/CM, OSHA, and DOT standards
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
