Construction Laborer
Field Operations
P. Flanigan and Sons has been an area leader in heavy civil construction projects in Maryland for over 135 years. We service a wide range of transportation modalities from city streets to state highways, seaports and airports.
We are seeking reliable Construction Laborers to join our team. You will be responsible for performing tasks to support various operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
Hourly Range: $20.38 – $20.86, based on experience
Benefits: Employer pays for benefits provided by the Union Health and Welfare Pension Funds. Monthly union dues are required and will be deducted from the employee’s paycheck.

Responsibilities
- Promote a positive safety culture and adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Assist in loading / unloading construction materials
- Operate hand and power tools under supervision
- Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and hazards
- Assist in digging trenches, backfilling and compacting earth
- Provide assistance to other workers and operators
- Maintain a clean job site
- Perform additional duties as directed by their immediate supervisor
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to and from project sites
- Previous experience preferred but not required
- Must be to work a variety of shifts, including day, night, or weekend
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work in outdoor environments in a wide range of weather conditions, including prolonged walking or standing on varied terrain
- Work environment can include working adjacent to live traffic, heavy equipment, loud noises and vibrations of equipment and power tools
Union Membership
This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement and the successful applicant will be required to join the union.
