HRP Bridge 1

P. Flanigan & Sons has been working on a project for Baltimore City, providing a facelift for Herring Run Park, since October, 2014. This ongoing project encompasses new bike paths, a new entrance to the park, and new pedestrian bridges, as well as numerous other improvements. Over the 2015-2016 winter season, two massive pedestrian bridges were placed at the park. Pre-fabricated by Big R Bridge in Abingdon, Virginia, the bridges were assembled and installed on-site by Cianbro.

The first bridge, pictured above, was installed in November, is 230 feet long and weighs 96 tons. It was hauled in in five sections, and put together on site to be installed as a singular piece. The second bridge, pictured below, was installed in January, and it is slightly smaller, at 210 feet long and weighing 91 tons. This bridge was brought in four separate pieces, before being installed.
